Abstract (EN): Colostrum is the type of milk produced by the mammary glands in late stages of pregnancy and the few days after birth. Colostrum contains a lot of carbohydrates, proteins, antibodies and less fat (which is difficult to digest baby). The observations made in Perinatology Lounge Hospital Dr. Achmad Mochtar Bukittinggi in November 2015 the author found that not all babies be breastfed exclusively. This research purposes to see Factors Associated with Granting Colostrum In Newborn. Design The study was a descriptive analytic approach croscektional, the dependent variable and the dependent were taken conducted together With a sample of 30 respondents and data processing Chi Square test. Results of univariate analysis found 66.7% had good knowledge, 56.7% higher motivation, 53.3% normal delivery types, 53.3% expressed support officer unfavorable and 56.7% did not give colostrum. Analysis of unknown factors associated with the provision of colostrum is knowledge (p = 0.017 and OR = 13,500), the type of delivery (p = 0.008 and OR = 13,200) and support officers (p = 0.011 and OR = 10.833), and there is no relationship of motivation with giving colostrum (p = 1.000) It can be concluded that the factors associated with the provision of colostrum is the knowledge, the type of delivery and support personnel. Expected for hospital management, especially perinatology space in order to distribute leaflets about the importance of colostrum to the baby and the way of administration so that the mother knows about colostrum and also how or limit the provision of colostrum.
