Lower Spinal Pain is pain felt in lower back which is sourced to back bone in spinal area, muscle, nerve, or other structures around those areas. National Safety Council reports the disease caused of work with highest frequency occurrence is lower spinal pain with 22% out of 1.700.000 cases. The aim of this research is to identify the factors related to the lower spinal pain symptom of farmer in Ganting Area, East Padang Panjang, in 2016. This research is an analytical descriptive using the cross sectional approach. The population in this research is 349 persons and 78 persons as sample. The technique of sampling is by using Proportional Sampling. The research was conducted in August 2016 in Ganting area, East Padang Panjang. The data were analyzed univariately and bivariately by using Chi-Square test. The result obtained is 73,1% of farmer with risky work attitude, 55,1% farmer with not-risky working time, 57.7% female farmer, and 73.1% farmer with lower spinal pain. Based on bivariate analysis shows the relation between work attitude, work time, and gender with lower spinal pain symptom (pValue 0,005), (pValue 0,012), (pValue 0,000). From the research was obtained that there was lower back pain problems which is caused of work attitude, work time, and gender. It is kindly recommended for all farmers to be able to provide the counseling towards the causes, hazard, and countermeasures of lower spinal pain symptom for farmer.
