Abstract (EN): This study aims to determine the effect of Chlorella vulgaris ointment on the healing process of incision wounds in male white rats, based on the time required for wound healing and morphological changes compared to the control. The research used the maceration method and involved 20 rats, which were divided into 5 groups: treatment groups (Chlorella vulgaris ointment at 2%, 3%, and 4% concentrations), one negative control group (vaseline), and a comparison group (povidone iodine). The rats were given a 2 cm incision using surgical scissors. The wounds were treated with Chlorella vulgaris ointment once daily and observed daily from day 1 to day 10. The results showed the average wound healing percentages as follows: Control group: 29.02% 2% concentration: 36.67% 3% concentration: 35.38% 4% concentration: 48.09% Comparison group (povidone iodine): 37.07% Quantitative data were statistically analyzed using ANOVA, while qualitative data were presented descriptively. The results indicated a significant difference among the 5 groups (P < 0.05). There was a clear difference between the treatment groups (Chlorella vulgaris ointment 2%, 3%, and 4%) and the control group. Duncan's post hoc test showed that the 4% Chlorella vulgaris extract ointment had an effectiveness comparable to povidone iodine in accelerating the healing of incision wounds and showed a significant difference compared to the negative control and other concentrations. The study concluded that Chlorella vulgaris ointment has a positive effect on wound healing in rats, with the 4% concentration being the most effective for promoting rapid healing.
