Abstract (EN): The RSAM Bukittinggi in 2014 found eight cases of cervical syndrome and whereas in 2015 cases to 11 cases of cervical syndrome. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of therapy with modalities Infra Red (IR) and Trans Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) for pain in cases of cervical syndrome in the Hospital Dr. Achmad Mochtar Bukittinggi 2015. This research is a quasi experimental with pre and post test approach. The population in this study were all patients with cervical syndrome in the Hospital Dr. Achmad Mochtar Bukittinggi In 2015 a total of 11 people. Sampling on research using total sampling technique to obtain a sample of 11 patients. Collecting data using sheets of the patient's pain level was measured before and after therapy. Processing of research data is computerized using t-dependent test. The results showed that the average pain scale of respondents prior to therapy with modalities Infra Red (IR) and Trans Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) was 5.06 and the average after administration of Infra Red (IR) and Trans Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS ) was 4.83 And there are differences in average pain scale of the respondents before and after administration of IR and TENS at 0.228 and p = 0.000. It can be concluded that the therapy with modalities Infra Red (IR) and Trans Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is effective in reducing pain intensity in patients with cervical syndrome. To that end, it is expected to society, especially to people with cervical syndrome can choose modality therapy with IR and TENS in reducing pain scale in patients with cervical syndrome.
