Abstract (EN): Fever is the body's natural response, characterized by an increase in temperature due to infection or an immune response. One alternative treatment for fever is the use of herbal plants containing active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins. This study aims to determine the antipyretic effectiveness of Jatropha curcas L. leaf extract with different solvents (ethanol, ethyl acetate, and N-hexane) in male white mice induced with fever using the DPT vaccine. The research method used a randomized design with 11 treatment groups, consisting of negative control (0.5% Na-CMC), positive control (paracetamol), and nine extract treatment groups with variations in solvent and dose (200, 400, and 800 mg/kgBW). The results show that the extract of Jatropha curcas leaves contains flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins which have the potential as antipyretics. Observations of the rectal temperature of mice showed that the ethanol extract at a dose of 800 mg/kg BW provided the most significant temperature-reducing effect, approaching the positive control. The data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test and Duncan's further test which showed significant differences (p < 0.05). This study concluded that the ethanol extract of Jatropha curcas leaves was effective in reducing the body temperature of male white mice induced by the DPT vaccine, and could be an alternative source of natural antipyretic drugs.
