The use of natural ingredients in cosmetic products is increasing in line with growing consumer awareness of safety and potential side effects of synthetic substances. One popular cosmetic product is the peel-off gel mask, which is favored for its ease of use. This study aims to evaluate a peel-off gel mask formulation that combines papaya fruit extract (Carica papaya L.) and aloe vera extract (Aloe vera (L.) Burm.f.) as natural active ingredients. This study was conducted through laboratory-based experimental methods, including plant identification, preparation, extraction, formulation, and evaluation of the physical quality of the peel-off gel mask. There were 10 formulations: F0 (base formulation), F1, F2, F3 (with 5%, 10%, and 15% papaya extract), F4, F5, F6 (with 5%, 10%, and 15% aloe vera extract), F7, F8, F9 (with combinations of papaya and aloe vera extract in ratios 5:5, 10:5, and 5:10). The physical quality evaluations included tests for organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, drying time, spreadability, adhesiveness, and stability tests consisting of cycling test, room temperature storage, and centrifugation test. The results showed that all ten active formulations did not follow a normal distribution (p = 0.000), indicating significant differences (p < 0.05) in the cycling test. Further analysis using the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test showed p = 0.088 (p > 0.05), indicating no significant difference in pH values before and after the cycling test. Similarly, the viscosity test at 4°C and 40°C also showed non-normal distribution (p = 0.000), and the Mann-Whitney test yielded p = 0.429 (p > 0.05), showing no significant change in viscosity before and after the cycling test. Based on the physical quality evaluations, the most stable formulation was F8, which contained 10% papaya extract and 5% aloe vera extract. This formulation demonstrated good stability throughout the testing process.
