Abstract (EN): Drug Related Problems (DRPs) refer to conditions related to drug therapy that interfere with a patient's ability to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. Hypertension is defined as a condition in which blood pressure reaches 140/90 mmHg or higher. This study aims to analyze the occurrence of DRPs and their impact on the success of hypertension therapy in patients at Achmad Mochtar Hospital, Bukittinggi, in 2023. This research is quantitative in nature, using retrospective data collection. Sampling was conducted using Simple Random Sampling and the Slovin formula, resulting in a total of 91 samples. The data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test in SPSS. The sociodemographic results showed that the majority of participants were female (51.6%), had a high school education (53.8%), and were employed (61.5%). Univariate analysis showed that untreated indications were absent in 87.9% of cases, inappropriate drug selection in 86.8%, subtherapeutic doses were found in 98.9%, no overdose occurred in 100% of cases, drug interactions were present in 83.5%, and drugs without indication were not found in 81.3% of cases. The success rate of hypertension therapy was 65.9%. Bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between drugs without indication and therapeutic success (P value = 0.008; OR = 4.95), indicating that drugs given without proper indication negatively impact the success of hypertension therapy.
